Activist Proposal

In the Green Life Group there is now a new problem about butts being thrown on the ground. People are not putting them in the proper place. They also are not being picked up as often as they should. Right now, people are are feeling attacked, but they are the ones littering. If people would simply put there butts into the proper waste site, there would be no need for a new rule. Banning smoking on campus would not be a issue if the smokers just properly disposed their butts. This i believe would help with the trash around campus. There are currently workers who pick up the bigger trash, but the amount of butts thrown on the ground has increased. This would also help our campus look more beautiful, and less like a big butt.

Vintage Vigliance: Blog Analysis

How many times have you fallen into the notion of believing in things that most tell you do not exist? I often do, but my fascination is all about vampires! No this is not about the book Twilight...although I do love it......this is about other books of real accounts. Are you a believer? Most are not, but you have to admit there are things out there, things you cannot explain. Have not had one of these experiences? Well no worries there are most that never do. However there are documented accounts of these experiences. Here is what I turned up on the blogs.

In the blog Vintage Vigilance L. P. Van Ness goes into some detail about the true occurrences of vampires and what books say. Not only does Van Ness make you want to read the books, he wants you to get a scene of danger as you read the blog. Giving ideas about how you really feel about different stories. Could you be a believer of Weir-Wolfs, Vampyre-Slayers, or Vampires themselves? Each book relates to one if not all of these and send shivers down your spine. You will get the feeling you are no longer alone in your safe world. Le Fanu's "Carmilla" is just one story that will have you up late reading. Vampires "thirst is paramount, and everything else is incidental" (Van Ness). How do vampires trap their pray? They over power their pray, strangle and exhaust it in one single feeding. This will most likely kill their pray. The thirst for blood from vampires is one that is so strong it is unavoidable. In the story of Eternal Vigilance the hero must satisfy his thirst thus it goes something like this: "'Blood, hot and coppery, erupted in [his] mouth spilling over [his] tongue: molten shards so sinfully wicked and delicious and taboo.'" (Van Ness)

Within these stories there is a deeper meaning. There is something brewing in the darkness, watching, waiting for the time to strike. Just because you do not believe does not mean they are not out there. Some people could even go as far to say that we believers are crazy. I disagree; I am just like you because you all do believe that something is out there. No you say? Well if you believe in God, then you believe that there is something out there that cannot be explained. It does not have to be Vampires, Ghosts, Weir-Wolfs, etc, it can be anything. There are things that happen every day that people just cannot explain. So do not be so quick to dismiss the idea that there could be Vampires out there. So I advise you go and pick up a book and read Joseph Sheridan Le Fanu's "Carmilla". I believe it will be one you just might enjoy, just beware of what goes bump in the night. For that could be your last freighting experiences of your life. Also, the next time you think it is just a wolf, howling at the moon, think about it, it could be something a lot worse.

Where do you see things others have posted somewhere their opinions, ideas, and information?
Which ones have really stuck with you?

On campus there where lots of chalkings that were supporting one presidential candidate or the other.

On bulletin boards around campus there are flyers for all sorts of things: Parties, Roommates need, Baby sitting, Tutoring, etc.

Driving around town you will see Billboards that inform you about stores, local events, sales, and much more.

TV even shows you other peoples opinions, ideas, and information. Commercials show us things that stick. One that sticks with me is the Free Credit Report .com commercials. They are catchy and I know just about all of the lyrics.

There are many places you can see someones opinions, ideas, and information. Where do you see them and which ones stick with you?

Concerns for the College Student

There are many things that concern me and these are just a few. Please feel free to add more you feel are important ,comment on any that you think are right for you, or just ones you feel have no reason to be on the list.

Will President Obama get our economy out of this ression?

Will this stimulus bill really be the answer to our problems?
